With its high-performance UNIVERTOR AM-T machines, WEISSER offers end-to-end manufacturing solutions for cost-effective high-volume production. The vertical machine design, based on the transfer principle, ensures a continuous flow of workpieces, short cycle times, and maximum productivity. The flexible use of turrets, drilling heads, and multifunction slides allows different machining tasks to be efficiently carried out within a single work area.
For all brake disc variants, highly productive turning and drilling processes are initially used, ensuring the highest dimensional accuracy and short machining times. Depending on the material and component requirements, WEISSER supplements these processes with the appropriate finishing operations.
For hard-coated brake discs, the proven WEISSER surface grinding process with dual surface grinding units is used. The application of force on both sides enables high feed rates while maintaining excellent form, position, and surface quality. The self-sharpening grinding process produces a defined cross-grind pattern and ensures reproducible machining of the friction surfaces to the highest quality standards. The surface grinding process can also be used as an option for conventional gray cast iron brake discs to produce a defined cross-grind pattern on the friction surfaces.
